Simulation and evaluation of the outdoor thermal environment in mountain cities
This paper states the specialty of urban thermal environment in mountain cities. The urban thermal environment is characterized as high temperature and high humidity, strong intensity of solar radiation, low average wind velocity and obvious heat island effect because of the special V landform and intensive high buildings. In the meantime, this paper introduces three main reasons which cause the complex thermal environment. Then, on the base of CFD technique, the thermal environment of one university is simulated and analyzed. Then, data from field measure and simulation are compared and studied, and it is concluded that CFD software is an efficient method to simulate and analyze the thermal environment. From the angle of environmental protection and city planning, city duct, ravine wind, land and river breeze are encouraged taking mountainous relief into account. Roof greening, wall greening are selected and suggested to green the whole city so as to reduce heating effect. GIS management system is proposed in this paper to supervise the urban thermal environment. Flowing water of rivers should be made full use of which can decline the air temperature very much. Finally, the implementation of these suggestions can result in maintenance of the sustainable development in mountain cities.
