Study on Spatial Distribution of Sand-dust Storms in China
From 1954 to 2001, the ground observational data of nationwide basic climatic station was statistically analyzed. The results show that the sand-dust storms are located in 30 provinces (regions, municipalities) and have the characteristics of generalization, diversity and concentration. According to the correlation analysis of 22 factors in the 147 county of three-North areas, influencing factors of sand- dust storms spatial distribution are longitude, latitude, annual average temperature, annual rainfall, annual evaporation, the areas of sandy badlands, the sum of areas that excludes forest lands and grasslands from the total land areas respectively. These influencing factors can be divided into steady factor, changing factor and controllable factor. The most typical correlation and integrating mode between influencing factor and spatial distribution of sand-dust storms are educed and that can react the inner connection of environmental factors and frequency and duration of sand-dust storms. The best ways of monitoring, prevention and control are based on the characteristics of spatial distribution of sand-dust storms and integrating mode.
