The Pedagogical Needs of Foreign Language Teachers
This paper focuses on three pedagogical needs of foreign language teachers in their professional education. They are (1) the need to view foreign language teaching (FLT) and foreign language learning (FLL) in a philosophical and scientific way so as to be creative and original in their own teaching practice; (2) the need to understand the mechanisms of the mental workings of the foreign language learners learning activity and learning process so as to get a clear picture of the genuine mechanisms of the learners linguistic capability; and (3) the need to do their own research work so as to develop their own FLL and FLT theories and bridge the gap between public theories and his own practice.
