EFL Learners Perceptual Learning Style Preferences and English Achievement
This paper is a report on the findings from an exploratory study of perceptual learning style preferences amongst 242 second year English majors at a teachers college. The main objectives of the study are: (1) to describe perceptual learning style preferences exhibited by the students; (2) to find the relationship between perceptual learning style preferences and L2 achievement; (3) to raise awareness of sensory modality strengths and weaknesses on the part of both teachers and students; and (4) to make suggestions as to how to apply the research of perceptual learning styles into classroom instruction.
