Algorithm of Moving Objects Segmentation in MPEG-4 Coding
In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed in MPEG-4 coding. It adopts diplex-filtration mechanism and extracts the moving video object by using motion estimation. First, using background- priority rule in motion estimation for the first filter; Second, using the minimum SAD and self-adapting threshold for the second filter, then we can get the good mask of moving region on macro blocks; Third, using a morphology filter and fill technique to remove noises of the mask and get the matrix of motion region finally. This algorithm is tested both on hardware and software. The results indicate that the algorithm can provide a perfect segmentation and a better real time than traditional coding.
