Para-consistent Case-Based Reasoning for Practical Industrial Applications

This paper presents an application of a hybrid control system, which comprehends the Annotated Paraconsistent Logic (APL) and Case-Based Reasoning System (CBR). The APL in combination with CBR has provided greater flexibility for implementation a decision support system. The Three-valued Annotated Paraconsistent Logic—3vAPL in intelligent systems allows the manipulation of inconsistent, undefined information, which represent partial and expert knowledge, in such a way that the behavior of the system becomes closer to the real world, as well as its responses. The proposed methodology manipulates the function belief, disbelief and expertise presented in 3vAPL to recover cases from a knowledge base, with the aim to determine diagnostics of a control system which utilizes a CBR. This methodology utilizes the “CBR Para-Expert algorithm.
