An Application of Stepwise Regression Analysis to the Intelligent Sensory Evaluation of the Cigarette

This paper makes use of stepwise regression analysis to analyze the main chemistry composition of the cigarette tobacco leaves and the sensory quality. Eliminate the physical and chemic index which contributed little to the sensory index gradually. Finally get a “optimal regression equation which is representative strongly. It can truly reflect the linear relation between several physical and chemic index and sensory index. Compared with the predicted value and the measured value of the sensory index, the result expresses that method works effectively.
