Application of Fuzzy Logic, Weights of Evidence and Fuzzy Weights of Evidence in Porphyry Copper Potential Mapping: a Case Study from Zhongdian Area, Yunnan Province,China
This study involves the integration of multiple geological data sets for mineral exploration. The fuzzy logic (FL), weights of evidence (WofE) and fuzzy weights of evidence (FWofE), as artificial intelligence (AI) approaches for map combination, are used for porphyry copper potential mapping. To identify more potential copper mineralization in Zhongdian area, we used several geoscientific data such as geological, geophysical, and geochemical data sets. The data capture, map operations and spatial data analyses are carried out using a geographic information system (GIS). The results show that these three methods can integrate effectively various spatial data for mineral potential mapping and the final map delineated most favorable potential areas of mineralization for further investigation.
