Removal of Bisphenol-A (BPA) Using Ceramic Membrane Modified with Trimethylchlorosi-lane (TMCS) via Grafting Method

Bisphenol-A (BPA) as a kind of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) which is commonly used in various industrial fields has been an important environmental problems. EDCs affect the organ of human body such as estrogen receptor and concerns about EDCs released from various plastic prod-ucts have been increased nowadays. Thus, we try to separate BPA as an EDC in the aqueous phase using modified ceramic membranes. Trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) was used to modify the property of ceramic membrane. In results, TMCS modified ceramic membrane shows a high separation ability for BPA in the aqueous phase compared bare ceramic membrane.
