Mutual Solubility of Palm Oil, Palm Kernel Oil and Oleic Acid with Supercritical carbon dioxide
Phase equilibria of scCO2-palm oil, scCO2-palm kernel oil and scCO2-oleic acid were measured at temperatures ranging 333.15-373.15 K and pressures ranging 8.5-40.0 MPa. Fatty acid compositions, acid values, saponification values, peroxide values, specific gravities and refractive indexes were also measured to characterize the palm and palm kernel oil used in this study. The phase equilibrium data were compared with Peng-Robinson Equation of State (EOS) with van der Waals mixing rule using a single interaction parameter.
