Vapor-liquid Equilibria and excess volumes for MEA(monoethanolamine) + water system
The accurate design of carbon dioxide separation processes by absorption method requires the knowledge of vapor-liquid equilibrium of aqueous alkanolamine systems. MEA (monoethanolamine) is recently widely used in the design for the separation of carbon dioxide by chemical absorption process. Isobaric and isothermal vapor liquid equilibrium data were measured for MEA + water binary system using a Stage and Fischer equilibrium still with circulation in both phases. The system investigated in the pressure range from 20 to 60 kPa and temperature range from 333.2 to 423.2 K. The measured data were correlated with UNIQUAC and NRTL activity coefficient model. The experimental excess volumes were measured by pycnometer and correlated by Redlich-Kister equation.
