Study on Reflux Position of Entrainer in Heterogeneous Batch Azeotropic Distillation
This paper compared the reflux positions of entrainer in heterogeneous batch azeotropic distillation operation, including internal reflux of entrainer at the top and in the bottom with different ratios (IRETB) and external reflux of entrainer both at the top and in the bottom with different ratios (ERETB).The azeotropic mixture used in experiment was isopropanol and water with cyclohexane as the entrainer. The yield and time consumption of the above reflux modes were compared. The result showed that, if the yield of product of ERETB is the same with the yield of product of IRETB, the time consumption of ERETB is less than of IRETB; if the time consumption of ERETB is the same with the time consumption of IRETB, the yield of product of ERETB is higher than of IRETB.
