Meso/macroporous Silicates as New Adsorbents for Bulky Hydrocarbons

Meso/macroporous materials make interest to many researchers because of multiple benefits induced from each pore-size regime. The meso/macroporous silicates were prepared by a new and simpler dual-templating method; a combination of liquid crystal mesophase of surfactant and closed packed array of colloidal crystal template such as polystyrene (PS) bead. The adsorption breakthrough and TPD (temperature programmed desorption) of toluene and p-xylene were obtained for macrostructured SBA-15 with different macropore sizes
