Ca Based Absorbents for High Temperature CO2 Capture
Calcium based materials were synthesized and investigated for high temperature CO2 absorbents. Calcium oxide alone showed a severe decrease of CO2 absorption capacity along with multi-cyclic carbonation-decarbonation test. However, calcium oxide prepared with addition of aluminum compounds displayed excellent stability over the 50-cyclic tests at 973 K. Stabilized absorption ratio was 62%. Doped alumina might prevent agglomeration of calcium oxide and maintain porous structure.
