Experimental analysis of effects in 19-channel ceramic membrane and optimization with CFD
There are three effects in ceramic membrane filtration process, wall thickness effect, interfering effect, sheltering effect, there effects were validated by experiment. We assumed that the diameter of membrane module was not varied, chose the channel diameter ac and thickness of the wall aw. |á is the ratio with ac and aw. The relationship between flux, flow, mean pore size and |á is acquired by numerical simulation with CFD software. When mean pore size of membrane is less than 200nm, flow by volume is increased by enhancing loading density. When mean pore size of membrane is more than 500nm, contributions of middle channel to the total PWF of ceramic membranes can be neglected, it is no use of enhancing loading density.
