Fabrication and characterization of Nafion nanocomposite membranes using polymeric dispersant
Organic-inorganic nanocomposite membranes were prepared using SiO2 and Al2O3 as inorganic fillers, and Nafion as organic polymer matrix. Resulting Nafion ? -SiO2 and Nafion ? -Al2O3 nanocomposite membrane were heat-treated under 150 ℃, 180 ℃ and 210 ℃. Introduction of SiO2 and Al2O3 improved mechanical, dimensional and oxidative stabilities. Moreover, comparing with nanocomposite membrane with no heat treatment, heat treated nanocomposite membranes showed higher membrane stabilities.
