Fluorination of Ceramic Membrane for the Control of Surface Property
Surface modification of ceramic membrane was not easy due to its mechanical and chemical sta-bility. This stability makes to increase durability of ceramic membrane, but to prevent from change of surface property for a specified purpose. Fluorination of membrane has been reported as an easy and effective modification method. In this study, we try to modify the ceramic membrane with fluorination. Fluorinated ceramic membrane showed the change of hydrophilicity in the membrane surface com-pared to that of bare ceramic membrane. This effect increased the water permeation flux and decreased hexane permeation flux.
