Environmental Impact of Aromatic VOCs Emitted from the Industrial Separation Processes
TRI (toxic release inventory) is an inventory for toxic chemical releases from facili-ties to air, water and soil including wastes transported off-site for treatment. Since 1998, manufacturing facilities across South Korea have to submit TRI report to the Korean Ministry of Environment (MOE). This study focused on the emission rate analysis of aromatic VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in the industrial separation processes, such as refining, absorption, adsorption, recovery and so on. It was discussed the envi-ronmental adverse effects by the VOCs emission from the industrial separation proc-esses by comparing with the emission contribution from the other processes.
