Selective detection of heavy metal ions in an aqueous solution using a multi-functionalized surface with surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy

To detect effectively heavy metal ions, multi-functionalized surface was applied to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) imaging. Micro-fluidic channel was used to fabricate the sensing layer with different functionalities on a single gold chip as well as to adsorb heavy metal ions from the solution. In this study, the selective and separable detection of Cu 2+, and Hg + was successfully represented by the optimization of array fabrication.
