A Real Time Digital Controller for Magnetic Levitation System

This paper presents a hardware-in-the-loop implementation of magnetic levitation (Maglev) system. We established a laboratory setup for Maglev to test different control algorithms. Here a real-time control algorithm based on PID to keep the overall control closed-loop system stable is fully reported. The Experimental result clearly approved the effectiveness of the designed controller by possessing maximum overshoot of 40% and settling time of 30 second and rise time of 15 second.
