The Simulation for the Downward Continuation of Airborne Gravity Data

Based on the Tikhonov regularization algorithm, the simulation for the downward continuation of airborne gravity data was performed. Tikhonov regularization algorithm can effectively restrain the high frequency noise, and resolve the downward continuation unstable problem. By the experiments of 1mGal airborne gravity anomalies from different flight height downward continue to the ground, and 1mGal ground gravity anomalies upward continue to the different flight height, the effect of height to the result of downward continuation was researched. According to the results of simulation, the measurement height of airplane is as low as possible in the permitted conditions. Meanwhile, the terrain correction before the downward continuation is essential.
