Analysis of hepatopancreas of normal and white spot syndrome virus-infected Chinese shrimp (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) by 2DE-MS

Using Fourier transform as a spectral analysis tool for prediction probable genes of genomic sequences, all that is required is a spot Fourier coefficient at f=1/3. In this paper, an efficient algorithm for computing spot Fourier coefficients is presented, then it is applied to the gene prediction algorithm, thereby, the method for gene detection based on Fourier analysis is developed. The result from theoretical analysis and experiments show that the computational speed of the developed method is improved plenty more, the sensitivity and the specificity of developed method are retained. This method is independent of training sets or existing datebase information, and can thus find general application.
