Study on DNA electrochemistry biosensor by self-assembling thiol DNA

A simple DNA biosensor was fabricated by self-assembling thiol DNA on gold electrode for detecting complementary and non-complementary DNA probes, the self-assembling time, the blocking time and the ability of detecting were studied by anodic stripping voltammetry and gold-label-silver-stain. The results indicated that the optimal self-assembling time is 6 h, the optimal blocking time is 3 h with 6-Mercapto-1-hexanol as the blocking agent, and the DNA biosensor detects complementary or non-complementary DNA probes quickly and exactly.
