Synthesis and modification of superparamagnetic nanocompositions (Fe3O4/PVA)/SiO2

The synthesis of micro (or nano-) magnetic silica has been attracting intense interest due to their wide promising applications, especially protein. Nanocomposites (Fe3O4/PVA)/SiO2 have been prepared by three-step approch (co-precipitation, miniemulsion polymerization, St?ber process) and structurally characterized by TEM. In order to make the particles multifunctional, aldehyde group and amino group are modified on the surface. To make sure that the synthetical particles is effective, a series of experiments were carrie on. According the standard curve by BSA standard solution, the adsorption capacity and efficiency, the storage times effect on firmness, temperature resistance test and temperature resistance test were all emphatically tested. The results show that the absorption between the magnetic nanoparticles and protein was not influenced by certain time, or temperature. They exhibited high nonspecific adsorption capacity for a specific protein BSA.
