Synthesis of silver nanoparticles and nanorod for single molecule detection matreials

silver nanostructure were synthesized by reducing silver nitrate with ascorbic acid in an aqueous solution for optical detection and spectroscopy of single molecules. The products were characterized by energy dispersive X-rays analysis (EDXA), UV-vis absorption spectra (UV), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). EDXA patterns elucidated that the as-prepared materials was silver. UV-vis absorption spectra indicated the presence of silver nanoparticles and nanorod.
