A family-based and case-control association study of GABRB3 gene in Chinese Autistics
Autism is a complex genetic neurodevelopment disorder. Chromsome 15 is a candidate region for autism susceptibility. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of Gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor, beta 3 (GABRB3), were previously considered to be associated with autism in the Caucasian population. Two SNPs of GABRB3 were selected for genotyping with 130 autistic families and 120 healthy controls, using family and case-control analysis, based on poly-acrylamide gel DNA microarray. Our current results showed no significant association between GABRB3 gene and Chinese autistics (p>0.05).
