Semiconductor Nanowires with and without Metal Shell: What is the Ultimate Size Limit of a Nanolaser?

We present results in growth, laser demonstration, and theoretical modelling of GaSb nanowires. We study in particular the issue of how to reduce the size of a semiconductor nanowire laser using a semiconductor-coremetal-shell structure.
