Five-Layer Asymmetric Coupled Quantum Well with Giant Electrorefractive Effect
The electrorefractive effect in five-layer asymmetric coupled quantum wells (FACQWs) is discussed. The FACQW exhibits giant electrorefractive index change in transparent wavelength region and it is very promising for high-performance optical modulators and switches.
