In-Silico Visualization of Immune Response
In silico simulation methods, meaning simulations within computer software, have become indispensable tools in the development of expensive new technologies from aircraft manufacture to nuclear power station development. For various reasons, however, modeling and simulation techniques have only very slowly been adopted by the biological research community. Increasingly however, the pressure is on for this community to develop techniques which reduce cost and improve thespeed of drug development. In this regard, in-silico techniques offer enormous potential to contribute to the quality and costeffectiveness of the drug development process. In this paper,we present some initial results of immune response visualization which allows the user to parameterize their insilico experiments in order to study the maximum infection clearance dynamics. The tool also proves to be a useful aid in the classroom for students in their early undergraduate training.
