SEISMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS ON UPPER RESERVOIR DAM OF YIXING POWER STATION

The Yixing pumped storage power station is located at the Tongguan Mountain, China. Its upper reservoir dam is a reinforced concrete-faced rockfill complex dam which is built on a stiff slope. A concrete retaining wall is built at its downstream toe. In the paper, a two-dimensional FEM analysis was carried out to obtain seismic response of this dam. This paper presents the time histories of the response accelerations, deformations behavior of the dam, and the safety factors of the retaining wall under full reservoir conditions. The analysis results show that the dam and the retaining wall are fairly safe.
