STUDY ON THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL CRITICAL STATE FOR GEOMATERIALS
The critical state line (CSL) was proposed based on conventional triaxial compression tests. When it is used to predict CSL under complex stress state, the result is unreasonable.So the CSL must be modified. Based on unifeid strength theory, unified strength parameters are obtained. And the unifed strength parameters are the functions of strength parameters, lode angle, and intermediate principal stress parameter b. The unified strength parameters are introduced into the formulation of the CSL, and the CSL is modified. The modified CSL is related to lode angle and the parameter b. The modified CSL is verified. And the results shows that the modified CSL can well predict the results of the complex stress state.
