MODEL TESTS OF ANCHORED SHEET PILE WALLS ON THE EFFECT OF THE SECOND ANCORAGE WORK
The flexible bulkhead such as anchored sheet pile wall is often employed for soil retaining work of port facilities in Japan. In recent years, existing quaywalls are requested to be reinforced for maintenance and to be enhanced functionally for large ships. To meet these requests, dual-anchored sheet pile wall, which has two rows of anchorages, is expected. In design of the anchored sheet pile wall, interaction between the structure and the ground is important. However, it has not been investigated sufficiently. In this study, model tests of the dual-anchored sheet pile wall were conducted in order to understand its behaviors.
