ELASTOPLASTIC SIMULATION OF UNDRAIN BEHOVIOUR OF UNSATURATED SOILS
Recently a few coupled elastoplastic models for unsaturated soil have been proposed. These models can couple hydraulic and mechanic behaviour of unsaturated soils. The effects of the saturation degree on stress-strain behaviour and the void ratio on water-retention behaviour are taken into consideration in the models, in additional to the influence of suction on the both. However, until now, there is no model predictions for the stressstrain and water-retention response under undrain condition. This paper presents the model predictions of unsaturated soil behaviour under undrained condition, compared with the results obtained from undrained isotropic compression tests on unsaturated compacted soil. The comparisons indicate that the model can well simulate the hydraulic and mechanical behaviour of unsaturated soils under undrained condition.
