THE STIFFENING EFFECTS OF SOIL IMPROVEMENT COLUMN WITH STEEL
Because of the construction cost reduction, we proposed a new deep mixing method which uses steel as reinforcement and links other cement columns to reduce the improvement area. We investigated on the stiffening effects of cement columns with steel reinforcement by the horizontal load test in the centrifuge model. It was found that the load which decreases the rigidity is about 100~200 kN, and that the important parameter is the horizontal subgrade reaction of the soil.
