A UNIFIED APPROACH FOR FINITE ELEMENT MODELING OF STATIC AND DYNAMIC BEHAVIORS OF SCP IMPROVED GROUND
Sand compaction pile(SCP)method is an effective ground improvement technique. And Finite element method has been widely used in the design works. However,in most cases, the static and dynamic behaviors of the SCP improved ground are solved by different numerical schemes and different constitutive models respectively. In this study, based on a new constitutive model, a unified approach for modeling the composite ground under both static and dynamic loading conditions is presented. Static and dynamic centrifuge tests on a breakwater built on SCP improved ground are used for verification. By comparing the calculation results and observed data, the practicability and shortcoming of the approach are examined carefully.
