INTEGRATION OF A MULTIZONE AIRFLOW MODEL INTO A THERMAL SIMULATION PROGRAM
An existing computer model for dynamic hygrother-malanalysis of buildings has been extended with amultizone airflow model based on loop equations toaccount for the coupled thermal and airflow in natu-raland hybrid ventilated buildings. In water distribution network and related fields loopequations have been widely used to resolve the flowof water and other fluids. In the field of natural venti-lationthe loop equation method have rarely beenused in spite of its quality. Mainly due to problemswith automatically setting up the independent loops. The model described in this paper uses a methodol-ogyadopted from water distribution network thatautomatically sets up the independent loops and iseasy to implement into a computer program. Finally an example of verification of the model isgiven which demonstrates the ability of the models toaccurately predict the airflow of a simple multizonebuilding.
