ANALYSIS ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION CHARACTERISTICS FOR PUBLIC BUILDINGS IN CHANGSHA CITY, CHINA

Based on the annual operation records and testing data of HVAC systems and other equipment in 7 super markets, 12 hotels and 5 office buildings, energy consumption of public buildings in Changsha city is analyzed. Energy consumption characteristics of each style of buildings are presented, considering building features, operation rules, categories of energy sources, distribution of energy use, and effect factors. Energy saving potential of HVAC systems, illumination and official equipment are further discussed. It is found that there are huge waste and irrationality in the designing, operation and management of the three main bodies. Corresponding countermeasures are put forward consequently. It provides the original information and instructions for energy-efficiency research of public buildings in Changsha city, as well as the hot summer and cold winter zone.
