ECONOMIC ANALYSIS FOR DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM WITH GAS-FIRED PEAK LOAD BOILER IN SECONDARY NETWORK

In District Heating (DH) system, some seasonal heating load varied according to the change of outdoor air temperature. If heating units was chosen according to the maximal loads in design, the real supply of heat would be smaller than the rating heat in the most heating period. Consequently, fuel wastage of consume would be increased and the economic benefit of system declined. An energy efficiency project was proposed in the present paper, i.e., a DH system with gas-fired peak load boiler in secondary network. With the extension in run time of base load boiler in rated condition, the mean energy efficiency was increased. The analysis described in this paper estimated the LCC of DH system. A mathematical model for economical analysis was formulated and a case study was discussed. It is shown that, with a reasonable peak load ratio, the project was feasible in energy efficiency, and was more economical.
