TRANSIENT ANALYSIS OF NATURAL GAS SYSTEMS
Transient analysis not only is a useful help for operational managements but also is a valuable reference to engineering designs. In the paper, the Method of Characteristics including inertial multipler is presented and the physical meaning and the expression of inertial multipler are disscussed. Moreover, the transient analysis of an actual natural gas system is performed by using MOC including inertial multiplier. And then the computed results are compared with the field measured values. The study has shown that the MOC including inertial multiplier not only increases computational efficiency but also has an acceptable computational accuracy. So the method is feasible to numerically simulate the transient flow in natural gas network systems.
