NUMERICAL STUDY OF A HYBRID VENTILATION SYSTEM FOR SINGLE OFFICE HOUSE

Hybrid ventilation combines the virtues of natural and mechanical ventilation. Based on the fluid dynamics and heat transfer theory, physical and mathematical models were set up to simulate an office with Fluent software. The indoor air distribution was simulated with the turbulence model equation and SIMPLE method, in order to analyze the velocity fields and the temperature fields of the room. This paper focuses on the optimal cooperation of mechanical ventilation and natural ventilation. Factors affect the temperature distribution in the room, such as site of the air inlet, inlet velocity and heat source are discussed. Inlet velocity improves the temperature distribution with high temperature efficiency, but temperature efficiency goes down when the inlet velocity is too high; air inlet site and indoor heat source also have a great effect on the temperature distribution. The researches provide guidance for energy saving design of indoor ventilation.
