ISHVAC 2007: PHOTOCATALYTIC OXIDATION OF NITROGEN OXIDES
With a self-designed batch type photocatalytic reactor, the research on the phtotocatalytic cleaning of nitric oxide (NO) and formaldehyde from air, as well as the interaction between NO and formaldehyde has been carried out with a GASMET FTIR Analyzer. The results show that the photocatalytic degradation of NO with the initial concentration of 50ppm, 100ppm and 150ppm can be fitted well by a first-order model,r=- dC/dt=kC, where k increases with the decrease of the NO initial concentration. The value of k increases with the light intensity while the amplitude increased is reduced. The initial degradation rate of NO increases a little with temperature, indicating that the effect of temperature is weak. The degradation rate of NO increases with increasing relative humidity from 10 % to 55 % and decreases after the humidity is over 55 % and the presence of formaldehyde inhibits the degradation of NO and the inhibition is strengthened with increasing the concentration of CHOH.
