THE EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON THE THERMAL COMFORT UNDER THE MODES OF DIFFUSER AND SIDE AIR SUPPLY IN SUMMER OF CHONGQING

It has been given to less research for the relations between the thermal comfort and air distribution which affects the fields of indoor air temperature and velocity. This paper will discuss, by the field experiment, the thermal comfort via the modes of the diffuser air supply and side air supply. The paper shows that the different air distribution will usually result in the bigger thermal comfort discrepancy, at the same time there is a discrepancy between the thermal sensation vote TSV and the Predicted mean vote (PMV)under the two kinds of air supply. Under side air supply the neutral temperature is 28.63℃,which is more than the one under diffuser air supply and the discrepancy is 2.67℃. It is concluded that the mode of side air supply will gain perfect thermal sensation than the one of diffuser air supply under the same thermal environment. The paper analyzes that the phenomenon mainly results from the different air temperature and velocity fields formed by air supply and draft.
