STUDY ON SCANNING LEAK TEST FOR HEPA AND ULPA FILTERS
The development of modern science and technology presents new requirements on airborne particles control, such as particle size distribution and particle concentration. It demands excellent high efficiency particulate air filters(ab.HEPA filters) or ultra low penetration particluate air filters (ab.ULPA filters), which are installed in the terminal of the air cleaning system. The theoretical calculations prove that only one tiny leakage of HEPA filter will seriously affect the filtration efficiency of filter, therefore it is necessary to study a set of testing system to measure the performance of the HEPA filter to solve the domestic lagged conditions of the testing method for HEPA filters referring to the related international newest testing standards of HEPA filter. At present, particle counting method is becoming the current method for testing HEPA and ULPA filters efficiency throughout the world. The paper focuses on research and development on particle counting method and scanning leak test system of HEPA and ULPA filters. Some problems met in process are discussed. Hope to give some valuable advice to related units or companies.
