SEEPAGE CHARACTERISTIC OF GROUNDWATER HEAT PUMP WITH PUMPING & RECHARGE IN THE SAME WELL
Groundwater Heat Pump with Pumping & Recharging in the Same Well (GWHPPRSW) emerged in 2000 in China. In this system, the production well and the injection well is integrated in one well. Up to now, over 250 projects have been established. The model of groundwater seepage in confined aquifer caused by GWHPPRSW has been established. The analytic seepage equation is obtained based on principle of superposition. Equations of steady drawdown, seepage velocity, quasi steady time, drawdown away from well, mean drawdown in the observation well and ideal well distance are obtained. The result shows that groundwater seepage can achieve steady state quickly. The water table some distance away from the well is not influenced by GWHPPRSW, approximately. The ideal well distance is the function only of the aquifer thickness and the ratio of permeability coefficient (horizontal/vertical). The mean drawdown is zero for fully penetrating observation well, wherever the location of the observation well.
