HEAT TRANSFER ANALYSIS OF THE DOUBLE ROOF STRUCTURES INCORPORATING RBS
Double roof is known as a very effective way to reduce both the conduction and convection heat transfers from roof to the ceiling of building, on the other hand, RBS (Radiant Barrier System) is very effective in blocking the radiation heat transfer between roof and ceiling. In this study, prototypical double roofs inspired by the concepts of both double roof structure and RBS technique was specifically designed to cut down the solar heat gain from roof. Based on the common construction structure and materials, a double roof prototype was established to observe its heat transfer with different inclination angles and air layer thickness. In the meantime, RBS was installed inside the double roof so that the heat transfer and heat insulation performance in terms of this particular combination were then discussed.
