THE THERMODYNAMIC EVALUATION OF HEAT EXCHANGER APPLIED FOR CITY UNTREATED URBAN SEWAGE

City untreated urban sewage is excellent cooling and heating source for heat pump. But because the water quality of sewage is very bad, the fouling is formed easy in heat exchangers applied for sewage. In addition to, the fouling of heat exchangers is the one of main difficulties when sewage source heat pump is utilized and popularized. The conventional measure methods can not point out definitely the influence of fouling to the performance and the cost of running of heat exchanger because of the differences of chemistry component and capability of heat transfer of fouling. In this paper, the effect of fouling is evaluated by the change of exergy loss of heat exchanger. Citing shell-tube heat exchanger as an example and basing on the affect of the performance of heat exchanger for fouling, the calculation methods of irreversible exergy loss brought by heat transfer and flow resistance are advanced. And the definition and calculation method of inevitable exergy loss of sewage heat exchanger are developed. The research results provide theoretic base for the engineering appliance and science study of sewage heat exchangers.
