Design and Realization of GIS Subsystem in Marine Environment Quality Evaluation and Public Report System
The GIS subsystem of Marine Environment Quality Evaluation and Public Report System (MEQEPRs) is introduced in this paper. The authors present environment platform selection, and details of system design and realization. The MEQEPRs is an important part (belongs to the second phase) of the data management and information service system for the marine and environment monitoring in Fujian, and based on data management (belongs to the first phase), it focuses on producing the Marine environment quality evaluation and weekly report or public report and announcement of public services.This article reviews the disadvantages of data processing by traditional manual method for Marine business department and expounds the advantages using digital ways, and then further explores the necessity of the MEQEPRs. To meet the requirements of daily operations, the authors select an application development platform suitable for working by internet and collaborative effort.The authors review the thin custom-side technology of ArcGIS Server and take account of the editing requirements of Marine business department, and believe the using of ArcGIS server AP (Active Page) with AO bottom layer is appropriate to develop GIS subsystem of the MEQEPRs.Following the vigorous and practical principle, the paper summarizes the existing GIS platforms, and the authors design six GIS function sub modules, and describes each of the functional modules in detail. At the same time, the authors believe traditional method may lead to barrel effect, so in this paper, we touch upon a combination style of specified database and file data for the benefit of server load balancing.The authors divide the development of GIS subsystem into five parts, including designing global process module,customizing client, and building server, passing message between server and client, and deploying the GIS module with other system modules. And the authors believe the JSF (Java Server Faces) can simplify the development process, and analyze in detail the working procedure of tools button, command button, and listener. When describing server terminal building, the paper gives an instance of customizing server for the evaluation result, and explains operating procedure and message flowing between server-side, user-side and intra-component. Meanwhile,this thesis gives an in-depth analysis of the message passing mechanism between server terminal and client terminal,and elaborates on the process of the system deployment. As conclusion, we suggest that the GIS module of the MEQEPRs and its global system can reduce work time and improve efficiency greatly.
