MobileGIS and PDA Based Management of Urban Drainage Devices

With the overall development of GIS, MobileGIS becomes one of its most important frontier fields of it. Meanwhile, with the ever-accelerating process of urbanization, the coverage rate of the pipe net has increased notably year by year. But for some historical reasons, there are still a lot of problems exist in the sewer system of many cities. It is emergent to explore some new management method to meet the needs and improve the efficiency. In the paper,according to the practical application, the author brings up a new method based on Mobile GIS and PDA to manage the drainage devices in the field and illustrates the workflow of this manage way in detail.
