A case study of dam leakage detection using fuzzy cluster analysis of groundwater chemistry and isotopic composition
Most of the dams or dikes have ever been experience to a certain degree problems related safety and sustainability owing to leakage during their lifetime. Its very important to survey seepage of dike or dam with environmental isotope and groundwater quality according to geological condition. In many cases, Leakage passage existed in dam or dike can be detected by analyzing hydrochemistry and environmental isotope of bore hole or spring. The reason of piping in a certain dike is analyzed by means of fuzzy mathematics, with water quality and isotopic component parts of samples in bore holes and river. The result is beneficial to take next mechanical measure for the dike.
