The kinetics of dissolution of various mineralogical compositions of carbonate rock under burial condition
Steady-state dissolution rates of various mineral composition carbonate rock were measured in flow-through reactor under burial diagenesis condition. The Experiments were performed in aqueous acetic acid solutions, at temperatures ranging from 75 ℃ to 190 ℃ and pressures from 20 MPa to 40 MPa, which indicated the burial depth from 2000 m to 6000 m. The result showed that the dissolution rates of the carbonate bulkrocks increased rapidly with the increasing temperature and pressure (or burial depth). Compared with calcite, dolomite had higher dissolution rate under high temperature and high pressure. For mineral Select dissolution, the carbonate bulk- rock with relatively complex mineral compositions had higher dissolution rate than that with single mineral compositions.
